Real Madrid has reportedly turned down an approach from Tottenham Hotspur regarding a potential transfer for their versatile midfielder, Brahim Diaz. Spurs, under the guidance of manager Ange Postecoglou, are actively seeking midfield reinforcements to bolster their squad after a rollercoaster last season. Despite a promising start, they ended up in fifth place, securing a UEFA Europa League spot.
According to Foot Mercato, one player of interest to Tottenham Hotspur is Brahim, with club officials reaching out to Real Madrid to see what it would take to get a deal over the line. Madrid, however, wasted little time in informing Hotspur and fellow suitors Roma that Brahim Diaz is not for sale this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti is a strong advocate for Brahim’s abilities. He has reportedly convinced the club that the 24-year-old midfielder will be an essential part of the squad in the upcoming season. Last season, Brahim made 44 appearances across all competitions, half of which he started.
The former Man City youngster primarily helped out in the unique striker role in Real Madrid’s squad last season, covering for both Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, but questions have been asked over his importance to a squad that has added both Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer.
