Germany Faces Spain in UEFA Euro 2024 Quarterfinals
Germany continues their quest to win the European Championship on home soil as they prepare to face Spain in the quarterfinals in Stuttgart this Friday.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side enters the match on the back of a convincing 2-0 victory over Denmark, with Kai Havertz converting a VAR-awarded penalty and Jamal Musiala securing the win. Meanwhile, Spain bounced back from an early scare to defeat Georgia 4-1, maintaining a perfect record with four wins in four matches at UEFA Euro 2024.
Team News
Spain welcomed back all their main XI to secure a win against Georgia after resting ten of them in the final Euro group-stage match against Albania.
Nacho Fernandez and Ayoze Perez, who have been focusing on fitness, did not play in this game and their availability remains uncertain. Apart from that, Spain have no injury worries.
Germany, meanwhile, will have Jonathan Tah back at center-back following his suspension.
He will likely partner with Antonio Rudiger in defense. Kai Havertz, despite calls for Niclas Fullkrug to start, looks set to keep his place after scoring in the last game against Denmark. David Raum is expected to continue at left-back, with Florian Wirtz competing with Leroy Sane for a spot on the wing.
