Luka Modric has signed a one-year contract extension to stay at Real Madrid until June 2025.
The 38-year-old midfielder’s previous contract had expired at the end of June, but he has now committed to a 13th season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Modric joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has since accumulated 534 appearances across all competitions, contributing 39 goals and 83 assists.
He boasts a club record 26 trophies, including six UEFA Champions Leagues, five Club World Cups, four European Super Cups, and four La Liga titles.
Last season, Modric made 46 appearances, mostly as a substitute, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists.
The announcement also confirmed that Modric will be the club’s new captain following Nacho’s departure last month.
