Endrick: Brazilian Prodigy Realizes Dream with Real Madrid
Madrid, Spain – In a tearful and emotional moment, Brazilian football sensation Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The highly anticipated move, finalized on his 18th birthday, July 21, marks the culmination of a dream for the young forward.
Real Madrid secured the services of the Palmeiras prodigy in a deal worth €35 million, with potential add-ons of €25 million. The 18-year-old has penned a six-year contract with Los Blancos and will don the number 16 jersey.
“This is crazy,” Endrick said. “I am so happy since I was a kid, I have always been a Madrid fan, and now I am going to play for Madrid.
“I am here, I am going to play, I am so happy. My family are as well. I don’t have words to describe what I am feeling. I always wanted to be here. I wanted to play for Madrid. It was a dream. Today it is a reality.”
Endrick became the youngest player to play for Brazilian club Palmeiras, making his debut at the age of 16 in October 2022, making 82 appearances and scoring 21 goals.
Since making his debut in Brazil last year, he has scored three goals in 10 appearances for the Brazil national team and was part of their Copa America 2024 squad.
Endrick will be part of Real Madrid’s pre-season tour of the United States later this month, playing three games against AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea.
