Why Mbappe and Bellingham Are Missing El Clasico
Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham are both absent from the Real Madrid squad for the pre-season Clasico against Barcelona.
Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet in the early hours of the morning in the United States, although the upcoming meeting is nothing more than a pre-season friendly. How friendly a match between these two fierce enemies can be is debatable.
It is unlikely that there will be the same needle as in rival matches, especially when both sides do not have a number of familiar faces. For Real Madrid, this includes superstar Jude Bellingham and new recruit Kylian Mbappe.
Why are Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham not playing in El Clasico?
Mbappe and Bellingham are unavailable due to their participation in UEFA Euro 2024 this summer.
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward is still recovering from his trip to the semi-finals of the tournament with France and is yet to meet his new Madrid teammates. Mbappe will miss the entire tour of the United States and is expected to make his first appearance in white in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14 in Warsaw, Poland.
Similarly, Jude Bellingham is also recovering from a difficult summer. The midfielder helped England reach the final of UEFA Euro 2024, although he was unable to guide them to glory in a spectacular showdown with Spain. He will likely return for the UEFA Super Cup as well.
