Atlético Madrid, who want to offload Joao Felix, who they bought for a hefty $145 million, have struggled to find clubs willing to meet his price. Despite Felix’s talent, his high price was a stumbling block. Solution? Swap deal with Manchester City involving Argentine forward Julian Alvarez.
City’s interest in Felix dates back to before his loan move to Chelsea in 2023. However, the Premier League champions have no intention of selling Alvarez, who is desperate for more game time and is open to a move to Spain.
Manchester City set a price tag of £75 million ($95.7 million) plus an additional £10 million ($12.7 million) based on Alvarez’s performance.
