Arsenal Begin Title Charge with 2-0 Win Over Wolves
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka secured the three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Germany international Havertz brought the home fans to their feet midway through the first half thanks to an excellent assist from Saka in sunny north London on Saturday.
David Raya had to make a brilliant save to save Jørgen Strand Larsen and Wolves’ first ever goal midway through the first half.
Havertz and Thomas Partey went close for the visitors after the break, before they could have restored parity in the hosts’ resurrection when Mathews Cunha fired straight at Raya after an errant pass from William Saliba.
The experienced Saka then ensured no mistakes were made to start a campaign in which Arsenal will look to go one better than last season when he finished second when he stepped inside Ryan Ait-Nouri in the box on the right to shoot past Jose Sa at it and the near post.
