Mohamed Salah has etched his name into Premier League history once again, breaking the record for most goals scored on the opening day of a season. The Egyptian King netted Liverpool’s second goal in their 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town, taking his tally to nine goals in first-day fixtures.
The record-breaking strike came after Salah provided the assist for Diogo Jota’s opener, demonstrating his influential role in the Reds’ win. This also saw him set another record for the most goal involvements on the opening day of a Premier League season with 14.
Salah’s strike marked his ninth goal of the Premier League season on the opening day, joining Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer
