PSG’s Scoring Streak Continues: Barcola Shines in 3-1 Win
Paris Saint-Germain extended their impressive form in Ligue 1 with a convincing 3-1 victory over Rennes at the Parc des Princes. The match was highlighted by a standout performance from Bradley Barcola, who continued his scoring streak with a brace.
The home side started almost perfectly when Marquinhos headed home Achraf Hakimi’s corner, but the goal was ruled out by VAR after the Brazilian was ruled offside.
But the Parisiens opened the scoring in the 30th minute through their star man when Barcola curled a delicate effort past Steve Mandanda into the far corner after Christopher Wooh had given the ball cheaply to Joao Neves.
Luis Enrique’s side were unable to extend their advantage at the break, but their performance deserved a goal shortly after the break when Lee Kang-In headed into an empty net after Barcola’s effort hit the post.
The result was beyond doubt 10 minutes later when Hakimi’s dangerous drive at the back post was converted by Barcola.
Rennes got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot after Beraldo handled Hans Hateboer’s header and Arnaud Kalimuendo rose from 12 yards to send Matvey Safonov the wrong way.
