Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Barcelona beat Young Boys 5-0 on Tuesday to bounce back from their opening Champions League defeat in Monaco.
Hans Flick’s side beat Monaco 2-1 in their first game in the new league phase of the competition, but there were no surprises when the Young Boys visited Montjuic on matchday two.
Lewandowski put the visitors ahead in the eighth minute when he tapped in Raphinh’s low cross after good combination play between the Brazilian and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
After the hosts missed a few decent chances, the quick-fire duo of Raphinha and Inigo Martinez put Barca 3-0 up, the Brazilian heading home a rebound in the 34th minute before Martinez scored with a towering header less than three minutes later.
Lewandowski got his second and Barca’s fourth shortly after half-time when he nodded in Martinez’s corner from inside the box before Young Boys defender Mohamed Camara knocked the ball into his own net to clear Alejandro Balde’s cross late on.
