Vinicius Junior and Carvajal Injured in Real Madrid’s Victory Over Villarreal
Real Madrid has announced that Vinicius Junior sustained a “cervical injury” during their recent match against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Brazilian forward showcased his exceptional talent by scoring a spectacular 25-yard goal, securing three points for Los Blancos in the second half. However, just six minutes later, Vinicius had to leave the field due to a suspected injury, with Arda Guler stepping in for the final 11 minutes.
The club confirmed the injury through an official statement: “Following tests carried out on our player Vinicius Junior, he has been diagnosed with a cervical injury. Pending evolution.” It remains uncertain whether Vinicius will be able to join the Brazilian national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru during the October international break.
In addition to Vinicius’s injury, Real Madrid faced another setback as Dani Carvajal suffered an ACL rupture during a challenge with Yeremy Pino late in the match. This injury will necessitate surgery in the coming days.
Carvajal took to Instagram to address his injury, stating, “A serious injury to the cruciate ligament has been confirmed. I will have to undergo surgery and be off the pitch for a few months. I am already looking forward to starting the recovery and coming back like a beast. Thank you all very much for your messages; I feel very loved.”
As Real Madrid navigates these injuries, fans will be hoping for a swift recovery for both players.
