Eder Militao to Miss Brazil’s World Cup Qualifiers Against Chile and Peru Due to Thigh Injury
Brazilian defender Eder Militao will be sidelined for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru due to a thigh injury. Militao, who previously missed the September fixtures because of a leg injury, first experienced discomfort during a match against Atletico Madrid on September 29.
Despite playing for Real Madrid since then, Militao traveled to Sao Paulo for medical evaluations, where the Brazilian national team confirmed the severity of his injury. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stated, “[Militao] underwent tests this Sunday, which revealed a minor muscle injury in his left thigh that will prevent him from playing.”
Militao is the second Real Madrid player to withdraw from the Brazil squad, following Vinicius Junior, who is also unavailable due to a neck injury. Currently, Brazil is positioned fifth in South America’s World Cup qualification standings, having accumulated 10 points after eight matches.”
