Barcelona Triumphs Over Red Star Belgrade with 5-2 Victory in Champions League
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski showcased his scoring prowess by netting a goal in each half, leading his team to a decisive 5-2 victory against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
The match kicked off with defender Inigo Martinez opening the scoring in the 13th minute, converting a close-range header from a Raphinha free-kick into the bottom-left corner. However, Red Star quickly responded, with Silas capitalizing on Barcelona’s aggressive offside trap to equalize with a well-placed finish just 14 minutes later.
Lewandowski regained the lead for Barcelona just before halftime, scoring on the rebound after Raphinha’s shot hit the post in the 43rd minute. The Polish striker then doubled the advantage eight minutes into the second half, striking first-time from a cross delivered by Jules Kounde.
Kounde continued to shine, assisting Raphinha for Barcelona’s fourth goal before providing another assist in the 76th minute, setting up Fermin Lopez to score the fifth from inside the box.
Despite a late goal from substitute Milson, which reduced the deficit for Red Star in the 84th minute, the home side remains without a point, sitting in 35th place. Meanwhile, Barcelona climbs to sixth in the 36-team table, now boasting nine points.
This impressive performance highlights Barcelona’s attacking strength and solidifies their position in the Champions League standings.
