Julian Alvarez Joins Atletico Madrid in Record-Breaking Transfer
Manchester City has confirmed the departure of Argentine forward Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid in a deal that could potentially reach €95 million (£81.5 million).
The Premier League champions will receive an initial €75 million (£64.5 million) with an additional €20 million (£17 million) in potential add-ons for the 24-year-old World Cup winner.
The 24-year-old, who helped Argentina win the Copa America this summer before representing his country at the Paris Olympics, made 54 appearances for City in all competitions last season, more than any other player, although 15 of those came substitute matches. .
Julian Alvarez scored 19 goals, surpassing his 17.5 expected goals (xG) and added 13 assists, bettered only by Kevin De Bruyne with 17.
However, Man City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed that Julian Alvarez wanted to test himself with a new challenge at Atleti, where he has signed a six-year deal.

Atlético Madrid have already bolstered their attack following the departures of Alvaro Morata and Memphis Depay with the signing of Alexandre Sorloth from Villarreal.
